Laminate Floor Steam Cleaning

Use a spoon to combine all ingredients and then pour the vinegar cleaning solution into your mop. However the intense heat and moisture it uses to get the job done can also wreak havoc on the adhesive used on your laminate floors. Be sure to dry the floor immediately after steam cleaning with a clean dry microfiber cloth or mop. Steam cleaners are exceptional at getting dirt and grime off laminate floors.

The steam can cause swelling and warping of the product. Avoid oil based cleaners as they can leave streaks that are impossible to get rid of. Laminate isn t as strong as other flooring options and it s easily damaged by devices like steam cleaners buffers and polishers. Unfortunately the short answer is no.

For a deeper cleaning use a damp cotton cloth or cloth mop. Use a damp cloth to blot up spills as soon as they happen. Steam mops create too much moisture for laminate floors which are often manufactured with a compressed fiber particleboard layers. Laminate floor containing laminate planks are not suitable for steam clean because moisture can quickly go through this floor and damage it easily.

But the water resistant laminate floor contains waterproof material in the core layer. You can use a window cleaner occasionally for spills but don t over use ammonia which can strip protective sealant. Also check the pad on your steam cleaner. If your floor is looking dingy use a mop and some elbow grease to clean it.

Always remove grit sharp objects staining agents moisture or aggressive substances from the floor. Clean the floor routinely to remove dirt and dust by sweeping vacuuming or damp wiping. If it is dirty then it s no longer absorbing the dirt and oils that the steam loosens and instead is just pushing them around. Do not use steam cleaners or wet mops which may cause irreparable damage to your floor.

For deeper cleaning you can use a steam mop very sparingly on laminate floors. Never allow liquids to stand on your floor. For steam cleaning tile floors or your laminate mix the water rubbing alcohol and vinegar in a mixing bowl and then add in the dishwashing soap. Use a steam mop occasionally for a very deep clean.

Not daily though because the repeated use of steam can cause the laminate to buckle. Start in the furthest corner and work in sections until the entire floor is clean.
